From someone with an aging 3070, having only 8GB RAM has been a tough sale the past couple of years. I'm sure this outperforms a 3070 by a bit, but if I were buying today, I'd save up another couple hundred bucks to bump up to something with at least 12GB.

Ikr my 3060 has more RAM than my 3080. Both are aging and I'm afraid there won't really be an affordable upgrade soon.

depending on the game, this will get 20 or so more frames at 1080p and a little less at 1440p
May be worth the upgrade just for rt and upscaling, however if you've got a 30 series it has the npu for frame gen the 5060 lacks.
I need a spare video card so I'll be picking one up. at this price it's as good as it gets for the 8gb model

Ironically enough it doesn't, the 3070 is slightly better in raw performance. The 5060 has newer DLSS and multi frame gen though if you care about that

You will own nothing and like it..

From here on out we will be renting time on mainframes like we did in 70's.. Wont need or want our home machines.. or so they think. life its self is a subscription these days.

Our family was just talking about it.. I remember a time when we had only one phone in the house. If we were lucky our phone "subscription" included "call waiting" or some had caller ID in the subscription plan. It was then and still now all a subscripion.

These are the end days of home "PC" as we know it. AI will be the place you rent your gpu performance and your data and stream it back to your house. A laptop streamer is all that is needed Or so they think..

I dont think any one is saying that the silicon in the future will be for home PC use. There are just too many needs for it as AI replaces the internet as we know it.. Mark the calender. you were there at the end..

As far as this deal goes? I am itching to get one to replace a 3070. I cant remember when I saw a new 8gb this low. Buy one and put it on the shelf in case you need to help a friend out in the future or for resale later..
