Rec. you get one with extra tips for a few bucks more, looks like this one only has the one tip. Save the pencil tips for actual soldering and use the chisel ones for burning rope ends, etc.

Actually, you can get one with 5 tips for $2 less! This deal was last posted in Aug 2025 but it's on sale again for only $3.99. I can't imagine a soldering kit for less, especially one with 5 tips.

If you're willing to spend $4 more, this seems like the better deal. It's 80W, comes with 5 different tips, a desoldering pump, a protective cover, and tweezers. The only thing I don't like is that it has an LCD display instead of LED because LEDs are more legible.

LCD displays can age, too. The crystals break down - the background starts to blacken or the digits will fade.

Size isn't everything. Lower wattage for delicate electronics. I have soldered lots of IC chips on boards with low wattage irons. High wattage increases the chances of damaging delicate components.
