Sorry, but everything has gone up in the past 2 years. Used, new, foreign, domestic. There's zero indications that it'll go down -- in fact, just the opposite. Please cite your sources where you believe that prices are going to be heading in an opposite direction...?

For this particular lens? Fat chance. Everybody wants one. $500 is (unfortunately) a great deal for it today. $400 a few months ago was borderline legendary.
