The KEF LSX II LT is a compact, wireless Hi-Fi speaker system released in January 2024 as the more affordable variant of the LSX II, priced at approximately $999 (often discounted to $499.97 at retailers like Costco). It features KEF's signature Uni-Q driver array with a 4.5-inch midrange-woofer and 0.75-inch tweeter, delivering 100W per speaker (200W total system power) with a frequency response of 54Hz – 28kHz.
these speakers without subwoofer are mediocre at best. I did buy them from Costco when they were 400
Yeah I bought them at $500. At that price, fine. I compared directly with my Sonos One SLs and they were essentially identical. Which- for about the same price is fine! These KEFs have a bit more clarity, sparkle but not much. At list of $1000 I would've demanded my money back. For $300 this is a good deal, I'd be happy.

It should be pretty obvious to anybody that speakers with 4.5" drivers aren't going to be able to produce deep bass. If you know of a comparable speaker that sounds better, please let us know - that sort of information would be helpful.
I thought these produced very listenable music without a subwoofer, though I was not at all surprised that adding a sub made a massive difference. The soundstage on these is quite impressive. If you're after a set of powered speakers in this type of form-factor, and willing to add a sub, I think you'd be quite happy with these.
I am and I paid $500, plus another $1,100 for an open box KC62. I absolutely believe the people who say you can get great results with a $300 RSL sub or something comparable.
No temptation to upgrade until the amps inside die, and I'm left with two paperweights. YMMV 😁
Got a price match when I bought them 2 weeks ago for $400. Bought another set for $300. Both are still in the box, lol. The lady said they have 3 more (Maui Costco).
Sony XM5 were also on clearance for $150. Bought one of those too.
