The RP-504C II is a large center channel that stands out for clear, easy to understand vocals and a more neutral Klipsch RP sound than the older bright R series. The cabinet is massive enough to require careful measuring, and placement can be tricky if the TV sits too high. Pricing has landed around $300 to $400 in past sales, so $450 feels steep to some. It remains a strong match for home theater dialogue if the size and price work in your setup.

  • Home theater owners needing a center for clear dialogue, because the speaker is repeatedly described as very good for vocals and clarity.

  • Listeners who prefer a less bright Klipsch sound, because the RP line is described as relatively neutral and less polarizing than the older R series.

  • Buyers building a larger front stage, because the cabinet is massive and the speaker is described as a large-frame center.

  • Shoppers comfortable paying around $450 for a center channel, because owners say the price is acceptable when they need one now and do not want to wait for a small extra discount.

  • Buyers expecting a bargain-center price, because it has been called overpriced at $450 and some would wait for a lower sale.

  • People with shallow TV stands or tight front-wall space, because the cabinet is massive and can force the TV too high or fail to fit through a doorway.

  • Home theater owners who dislike Klipsch center-channel voicing, because one owner called the RP center their biggest home-theater regret.

  • Shoppers wanting a compact center for smaller rooms, because the speaker is described as designed for larger spaces rather than small ones.

Thank you both for the input! Why would anyone purchase this Klipsch over the Emotiva center? Seems like a no brainer to go XC1 over this...
Preference is thee biggest reason.

Well, I bought the XC1, they have a 30 day free return policy so worst comes to worst, I'll send it back.

Thee biggest reason is preference.
Not to mention this will be easier to drive.

Science tells you matching speakers is optimal.
Even Emo says timbre matching is a benefit & the XC1s can be used as LCRs.
Not to mention someone said 5 of them would be a "long-term "keeper" system"!

Of course we are leaving out MANY other factors on determining which good center you prefer/works for you.
I would point out Emo stated those XC1s were designed for "smaller spaces".
I completely agree with them.

If smaller spaces is in play.
You might want to take a look at that 5.1 Energy Take Classic System for $299!
It gets high praise and is said to be a price-to-performance mega deal.
Especially compared to over $1k for 5 XC1s & no sub!!!

Awesome, TBH that's the only way to know whether it's a good center for you.

You'll have to give us your impression once you listen to it.

Good for you, not to let the SVS salesman's predictable scaremongering scare you off. 👍

Yes I purchased last year @ $299.99 If I'm not mistaken, it was only for the walnut color (which I got). This thing is a beast and @ $300, cannot be beat! At $450, I'd consider waiting
I got it on the same sale. Haven't hooked it up as yet nor sold the 404C it replaced, but seeing the price these days I'm glad I got it at that price, which, due to inflation these days, probably won't be seen again for awhile.

I have this speaker and agree with most - Vocals are great, 100% happy with it. I think I paid around 400 in walnut a couple years ago.

Yep, the Klipsch RP series have put the "Klipsch makes ear-bleedingly bright speakers" canard (inspired by the bottom-level R and Icon/Synergy series) to rest. These have an uncontroversial, wide-appealing sound signature. In fact, I home demoed the SVS Prime speakers a few years ago and found THOSE to fit that old Klipsch stereotype much more, lol...thank god for their free return shipping, SVS's main redeeming quality.

FWIW this deal is now available on Amazon as well. Found a "Used - Like New" for $400 to save another $50 bucks. Pretty low risk since it is free returns as well. Excited to try this out, just hope its not too bulky (hence why i opted for the free return choice) and if it is then I'm not sure what to pair my rp8000f's with moving forward.

None of those guys must have been married! 😁 That's certainly my only reason for the hesitation

The walnut colorway of this exact model is only $169 at Adorama right now. It's backordered, but it is still available for purchase.
