Yes. This launched yesterday and Anker lists the $679 price as the MSRP on the email and anker website.

If you preordered it was 599. Honestly i learned after the c2000 prerelease that anker always does the get it before it goes up, then it drops back down to prelease date. Then we will see it fluctuate feom msrp to 599.

The idea is for people not following they think its a sale. For those who know will see 599 as msrp.

All power stations have ridiculous MSRPs that zero people actually pay so they can always be on 'sale'. Companies like Anker seem to just set some stupid price and then later on pretend the MSRP is at launch price.

While this unit is launching quite a bit cheaper than other 2kWh units (it does have a less beefy inverter, but that's what gives it it's efficiency), I'd treat the 680 USD as the real MSRP.

I suspect the 680 price tag will stick for at least 90 days but it won't hit the 599 again until Black Friday at the earliest; for one if buying direct from Anker, they do 90 day price matching and probably don't want to go below that figure in that time frame.... and once it is released, the 680 price is set with their whole ecosystem. A.k.a. if their C2000 is 15% off, the S2000 best case scenario will follow suit, otherwise you can buy a 2kWh from the same company for cheaper than the S2000 inverter be damned.

I pulled the trigger on it. I needed something for the fridge during wind storms and I think this will suffice. With that said, any solar panels anyone recommends to supplement this?

I got x2 to use as replacement UPSs (though no power station is a complete UPS replacement as they don't voltage clamp, this is the closest there is).

As such not really knowledgeable on the solar component other than two of the reviews I posted go into detail - I think you just need that connector and find a good SD for a 400 watt set of panels if you want to max it out.

So what do you think? is a good deal for power station? I don't need 2000W peak/run rate, mostly for camping, not a back up generator

This is probably fine for camping if your solar and dc power connection needs are low.

C2000 or even c1000 will be adequate IMO

I think it's a great deal - hard to find a 600 USD power station from off-brands in the 2kWh size. The new battery tech in it makes it last up to twice as long as other power stations; sure it'll be at lower capacity in 10 or 15 years, but I'm planning on using it as a UPS for my networking gear when it's out of main rotation. That efficiency and idle consumption means I won't feel the need to upgrade it in a few years as it's about as good as it's going to get for a long while (and I probably save about 10 to 30 watts an hour by having it replace my existing UPSs). I also believe that right now Anker is the best in the business by a good stretch.

The only thing I'd say to you is that if you're using it for camping, it doesn't have a cigarette input which a lot of campers use for certain things.

As far as deals go, I think it'll be the lowest price until @ Black Friday but would assume Black Friday would meet or slightly beat it, albeit I'd be surprised if BF is more than a couple percentage points off of 599.

Unless you need that bigger inverter, you'll be lucky to find the C2000 at 650 (only saw that price one time). S2000 also weighs 6 or 7 pounds less, twice the shelf life (good for retiring it as a UPS), and much more efficient. Fingers crossed this line drives down the C2000 below 600 and toward 500 as the C2000 is still a fantastic unit.

The C1000 is great if you want to spare 100 dollars (though it did dip to 350 according to camelcamel at one point) and can take half the capacity.

Both the C2000 and C1000 have cigarette charging ports, which is important to a lot of campers. The S2000 does not.
