I keep looking at this tool wondering what I'd use it for as a carpenter

It's not really oriented towards cutting wood.

Great tool. Used it hundreds of times in the year or so I've had it. Multipurpose. Easy to hold and control. I mainly use on metal or ceramic mediums but they do sell wood toothed blades for it. I bet you'd find a use for wood.

Once I got this tool, I found so many reasons to use it. Cutting chicken wire and hardware cloth, PVC pipes, metal conduit, flush cutting nails and screws, and so much more. Unfortunately mine has a bad switch, that needs to be taken apart and fiddled with frequently, or banged on table strategically to get it working again. Seems to be a common issue.
