You need to read the story that goes along with this one (https://www.fender.com/products/m...ratocaster). It's a replica of the current state of a guitar that this guy has been playing and modifying his entire life.

Not much innovation after Leo sold the company. Still trying to sell 50s design. Super Strat and Steinberger should had killed off the 50s Strats. Do not understand why many guitarists are still buying these. Looks like Michael wanted a JEM, but is stuck with Fender.

Seems to have been cheaper before (According to Amazon Price History, back in October it was below $1800). Not surprised either the Fender price hike they started in 2025 increased the prices on everything they sell. I remember the COMA use to be $2799. Now its $2999.

I was lucky enough to score a Ultra 2 Strat on sale from Cream City Music for $1600ish after coupon couple years ago. Its been my go to ever since. They use to retail for $2,199 in 2024 when they release, now and they cost $2299
