Be very very careful closing this knife. Comes pretty sharp and I cut the fark out of my finger trying to figure out how to close it. Edit: Never mind this isn't the bigger lock back version.

5Cr15MoV steel is like cheap kitchen knife tier quality. I think this price isn't a deal so much as it is the real value there about. Probably one of the better sub $10 knives though.

I have this knife and it DOES HAVE A BLADE LOCK!
Google is your friend: "Yes, the Cold Steel Kudu Lite Folding Knife features a ring lock mechanism that securely holds the blade open until you decide to close it."

The problem with people calling it dangerous is because they don't know how to PROPERLY use the lock. I didn't either, until I saw a video explaining that you hold the knife horizontally with the ring dangling down, and with your hand facing you, insert your middle finger (so it's coming at you) as you simultaneously push up with your thumb on the back of the blade and pull the ring down with middle finger. It sounds harder than it is, but very easy after a few tries.
It's worth the money. No, it's not a durable survival knife. But it is plenty sharp and durable for light use.

Bought this. Tried to return. Amazon said keep.

Hate this knife . Feels cheap and the closing mechanism is just stupid.

This is not correct. The Kudu has a ring lock. The Kudu Lite does not have a lock. The Kudu Lite has a half stop. I would totally buy this if it had a ratcheting action like the non-Lite Kudu.

Sounds like an AI answer. Which means it's wrong

Dunno. $5 for a buck knife doesn't sound half bad. But 4.25" blade? I think lots of knives with blade length longer than 3.5" is banned in many cities.

These are unsafe. You need the lock (real, original) version of this, and know how to properly use it. I have both versions.

The pull ring lock, (the real), knife is great for a under $10 knife, one of the best. I thought about buying a box of 10 and giving them away. Using them requires a brief commitment to learning how to open and close them, they don't work like lockbacks. These are popular overseas.
