On Xbox Series X, it can be upscaled to 4K HDR, which makes the game look noticeably cleaner and sharper than the original release.
Never played Fable, might jump in now - it's included w Game Pass BTW.

In addition to remastering visuals, Fable Anniversary also allowed you to choose between the classic Fable I/TLC control scheme and an alternative control scheme that I believe was introduced in Fable II. In I/TLC, there were a lot of magic powers you could acquire and use, so there was a need to be able to flip through "pages" of them mapped to your controller's face buttons. II and III simplified the magic system quite a bit, so there was less need to cycle through "pages" of spells.
For those new to the Fable franchise, these are action/exploration RPGs with a heavy emphasis on morality (a lot of quests have 2 ways to resolve them - a good way and an evil way) and British humor. They allow you to specialize in melee, ranged, or magic combat (but you can also evenly use all three). The stories in each game are mostly self-contained but with a consistent world and some references to one another. Fable 2 takes place 500 years after Fable 1, which a noticeable change from more medieval themes, settings, and weapons to more colonial/industrial ones. Fable 3 takes place 50 years after Fable 2.
I believe Fable 3 was released on PC but has been delisted from most storefronts. Sadly Fable 2 (my favorite in the series) never had a PC release. There's a fair bit of content to enjoy in Anniversary for this $12 price, though I'm not sure if I can personally justify buying it yet again.
