1. Portable folding panels NEVER hit their rated wattage
The Costco listing says the panel is 400W monocrystalline with "sunlight‑trapping surface" and up to 23% efficiency .

But folding panels have inherent losses:

Cell spacing

Wiring between segments

Heat buildup

Non‑ideal angle

Light diffusion across folds

Typical real output for ANY 400W folding panel:

240–300W normal

300–330W good sun

350W peak unicorn moment

So 243W is right in the normal range.

️ 2. The Costco panel is large and rugged — not ultra‑efficient
The panel weighs 35.54 lb and measures 39 × 26.6 × 2 inches folded .

That tells us:

It's built for durability (IP67 waterproof)

Not optimized for maximum efficiency per square inch

Not a glass rigid panel (those hit higher wattage)

Rugged = reliable
Portable = convenient
But not peak efficiency.

I'd be on this is I hadn't got the aliexpress special last week. (~$780 - $210 cashback for $570 total for Jackery 2000 v2 and Renogy 400w portable folding rigid panel)

Would rather have this Anker but I would sell the panel it comes with and get the Renogy 400w rigid panel.

FYI - the reviews for the power station are good. Not so much for the solar panel

Amazon front page deal from a few weeks ago was $749 for just the solar generator. $799.99 for the generator plus a 400 watt solar panel seems like a slick deal.

I bought this awhile ago from Costco for $999.99. This is a great deal. Just FYI, the panel is HUGE and heavy. I keep mine in the basement for a long term power outage, so it is fine. I wouldn't bring it camping or lug it around unless I needed a lot of power off the grid.

S2000 might last a little longer if left on standby, and is a bit cheaper. I think it's meant for occasional home backup use for a fridge or things around the house. It's a better buy if you don't need the extra features of the C2000. It weighs a couple pounds less.

But I would get this C2000 for the cigarette lighter DC connection, extra USBC 140w port, and extra solar capacity. I don't need the 30v port for RV connection but its also only on the C2000.

Both should be great as a UPS.

I have two 200w solar panels each are about 17lbs so sounds about right.
41lbs for the powerstation is accurate also.

It's not really cheaper?

I would get this purely for the ability to expand it another 2wh and it comes woth good solar panels. Normally they run for 700 and the panels 500.

alsomthis has a higher surge wattage. think the new one was around 2000w where this is 4000w.

I don't think these solar panels get good reviews. I ordered some Renogy 400w foldable rigid panels that I'm going to use instead. Hope I can flip the anker panels on marketplace for $200

I bought this and returned it a week ago. The power station was great but the panels are terrible. Heavy and akward only have 3 stands. Couldn't get higher than 220W on the panel. I believe Anker have a new bifacial 400W panel out now so maybe that's better than this one. I know it's like 20lbs lighter than this one. Still I paid $999 so this is a good deal.

Does it make sense to get another one than to just get battery pack to extend the capacity?
You'll get another solar panel that you can setup in parallel ( it won't support series) and you can charge one while being able to use the other one (since you'll need battery pack plug into main unit to charge).
It's not like you increase your total watt and surge watt (2000w full, 4000w surge) by plugging another battery pack.

Finally Costco return policy makes it a hot deal
