This is one of the crappiest air conditioner I've ever used. You cannot turn off the beep, and sometimes it just refuses to wake up unless you unplug it from the power source for five minutes and plug it back in. Avoid at all costs, and get yourself a Midea instead

I got 3 of these after the midea recall. The beep is horrendous. WTF were they thinking? Otherwise they've been fine, and the install is a little easier, but my gut says performance all around is not as good as Midea U. Controls on the app arent as fine tunable either.

I just installed mine yesterday. Paid for 240, zip 20877. Happy with the purchase so far. It is very quiet, you can only hear the fan but not the compressor. The problem I had was installation, the included brackets can only handle ~11 inch from sill to exterior wall. One of my room has brick siding, and my window sill almost align with interior wall. So it won't work unless you buy a bigger bracket or make aggressive modification to the bracket

Agreed. I think calling it L-shaped is a misnomer. Literally shaped like J.

I have both this one and Midea U shaped. Midea is easier to install (agree with installation issues above), quieter and has a better app if you can find at this price.

Even at $240 and if I'm loaded with Costco gift cards from TMO promotions? Honest question considering that the Midea upfront cost should be somewhere between 50-100% higher(?).

Good luck!

I bought three of these for $229 last year. The one I used in a too-small window so I had to Jerry rig it without the bracket. Honestly they are so light compared to something like my LG 5000 btu standard AC I don't use a bracket for that I don't know if you need it.

When I needed a couple of these a year back when it was hard to find the midea ones. They seem fine to me. Aside from the annoying beep, they've been fine. Sounds like you got a defective one or maybe you needed to update the firmware.
