Its probably just a high margin item since it is an Amazon branded product. Kind of like Amazon Basic products. They are still making good money off of it.

It's advertised as not needing a subscription(that's what the sync module is supposed to be for) but without a subscription they take many features out that shouldn't need a subscription. I've had this system for a little over a year now and on one of the cameras the 2 year battery has died twice, recording settings aren't kept(only records about 3 seconds before stopping and no the end clip early if motion stops setting is disabled), and overall the slowness to watch recorded videos just makes me really advise anyone to avoid this. Can't not recommend against this enough.
