Did a bit of research just now. This is the next generation of the MX-ST40B which was a good speaker but had some issues. The biggest being that it drops to 80W output when unplugged and running on battery. Which this -F/ZA model does, too. That's a big disappointment.

-F/ZA appears to have dual mic inputs with some adjustments for the karaoke crowd, as well as a removable battery, and an improved lightshow. Otherwise it's a reskinned -B.

I really liked my MX-ST40B but it was selling for $5 towards the end of its run. I think I picked mine up at the 150 mark, and they went below that. Super great experience if you are mostly plugged in or don't mind the drop in wattage when on battery - the sound clarity was very good.

Oh. If the app is still a thing... just don't. Don't even download it. It will make you angry and distract from an otherwise great (at a lesser price IMO) party speaker.

Thanks for the intel! Output power dropping instead of battery life is quite the design choice 😭
Did you say it was selling for $5 toward the end of the run??

I just got 2x these to swap out my jbl 100 from 5 years ago. If cashback works, the price will be 180 after on aliexpress purchase.

Jbl was way more premium than w-king but the w-king is rated for 270w rms vs 165 on jbl. I also still have to tweak the mic settings. I don't like the sound yet from the t12 for the mics

Build quality also matters.
