This mini PC is a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box best suited for everyday computing, media serving, light gaming, and server tasks. The Radeon 680M and 24GB of RAM are described as strong enough for Plex, Jellyfin, Steam Link, game servers, and lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends, with support for three 4K monitors. Main cautions are the weaker 680M versus newer 780M systems, soldered LPDDR5 5500 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD that may be only third gen. Thermals, fan quality, and past ACEMAGIC security concerns also come up, so a fresh Windows install or Linux is often recommended.

Price was $325 two weeks ago.
No, but a similar model (but with 32GB RAM instead of 24GB, and 1TB flash instead of 512GB) was around $300 a year or so ago.

The current chip shortage sucks.

Anyone recommend this as a more reliable Plex server than a Synology NAS?
I keep my files on the Synology but I run Plex on a separate machine. Synology servers are fine file servers, but they are super weak at any other actual server responsibilities.

Does it matter you you why? Why do my preferences matter to you? And Taiwan is NOT mainland China. Furthermore AceMagic (formerly Ace Magician)was caught shipping several of its mini PCs with factory-installed malware. Independent security researchers, YouTubers, and virus scanners (such as Windows Defender and VirusTotal) found spyware—specifically credential-stealers like the Redline malware family and Bladabindi—hidden in the Windows recovery folder and RGB lighting control software.... So lack of ethics & quality control.
Wow, this hoax is still rolling?

I see Dells at a lot of doctor's offices that look interesting. Many attatch to the back of monitors. Based on the specs, you're looking at $1k or more. I'd say this offer is pretty good for play computer or media server.
You can buy mini PC VESA mounts for the back of your monitor and attach any mini PC.

What games can you emulate with this type of computer? Looking for Emulators beyond Retro-Arc(Switch, Xbox, Xbox360, Ps3) etc.. Can the hardware handle it?

I have the ACEMAGICIAN W1 which looks like this one. The thermals were terrible, an aluminum plate shared between one stick of RAM and the SSD with no airflow. One stick couldn't handle the the temps anymore and the PC became unstable after a few months. I contacted support and they didn't have any replacement RAM but offered me $100 to compensate me for the 32Gb of DDR5 RAM. I 3D printed a new top shell that had room for a couple NVME heat sinks - one for the SSD and one for the stick of RAM and I added an 80mm fan on top.

Yeah, it's so hit or miss for me if a file even plays. Thanks for the info.

If you play games all the time.... or are stressing the CPU all the time, I recommend a laptop fan underneath. But it looks like their customer service is TOP NOTCH.

Can you swap out the hard drives on these?

Any reason I couldn't use this as an always on machine that runs cloud based LLMs?
LLM's on this? and what GPU are you going to use for your LLM's? For the money, i would get an Apple M4 with is GB that will blow this away. Run a comparison in AI and see for yourself.

You do know that Lenovo, Dell, Apple, HP, Asus... ALL GOT CAUGHT with malware or viruses pre installed. And some of these companies made MILLIONS for doing this... talk about unethical.

Per Acemagic, the company they used to install the OS installed this malware. Acemagic claims they had no clue and other companies also used this third party and the same viruses showed up on their devices as well. BOTTOM LINE... Acemagic produced and shipped mini PCs with pre-installed spyware and malware in systems manufactured before November 18, 2023. Just make sure you buy hardware that Acemagic used only after November 18, 2023 such as this CPU or the 7840HS or the 8745HS.

TELL ME with ALL YOUR Independent security researchers, YouTubers, etc... you could not understand what happened???? To me you are using the wrong research if you did not know the entire story.

First of all... what is your problem with China? You don't want it made in China... well you need to explain this to ALL THE US manufacturers.

BUT to answer your question... mini PC motherboards are manufactured entirely in China.

The CPU/GPU is made in TAIWAN
The memory is soldiered (probably made in China)
The motherboard is made in China
The hard drive is probably made in China.

So WHY... what is your issue with CHINA? But the best you can do is buy a bare bone system and buy the memory and hard drive you want.
I think it's clear why people would be concerned and you shouldn't shame people for being mindful of security. Did you somehow miss the malware scandal with ACEMAGICIAN machines? How about some of their subsidiaries and competitors? You clearly don't understand what oversight system integrators have or their role in hardware security.
