It's well-known that it's bugged. Would've been better if you checked which model it shows that price for: https://slickdeals.net/f/19144069-acemagician-m1-mini-pc-amd-ryzen-7-6800h-16gb-lpddr5-512gb-pcle-ssd-mini-computers-8c-16t-up-to-4-7ghz-windows-11-pro-radeon-680m-4k-triple-display-desktop-computer-328-99

Yep not even close to the same rig. This is a good price for a strong mini. This mini is way stronger than 80% if people actually need. I am using one similar to this with a 680 video for plex server. The rig has no issues with several people pulling 4k Dolby vision and atmos at the same time

Does it matter you you why? Why do my preferences matter to you? And Taiwan is NOT mainland China. Furthermore AceMagic (formerly Ace Magician)was caught shipping several of its mini PCs with factory-installed malware. Independent security researchers, YouTubers, and virus scanners (such as Windows Defender and VirusTotal) found spyware—specifically credential-stealers like the Redline malware family and Bladabindi—hidden in the Windows recovery folder and RGB lighting control software.... So lack of ethics & quality control.

This mini PC is a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box best suited for everyday computing, media serving, light gaming, and server tasks. The Radeon 680M and 24GB of RAM are described as strong enough for Plex, Jellyfin, Steam Link, game servers, and lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends, with support for three 4K monitors. Main cautions are the weaker 680M versus newer 780M systems, soldered LPDDR5 5500 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD that may be only third gen. Thermals, fan quality, and past ACEMAGIC security concerns also come up, so a fresh Windows install or Linux is often recommended.

First of all... what is your problem with China? You don't want it made in China... well you need to explain this to ALL THE US manufacturers. BUT to answer your question... mini PC motherboards are manufactured entirely in China. The CPU/GPU is made in TAIWANThe memory is soldiered (probably made in China)The motherboard is made in ChinaThe hard drive is probably made in China. So WHY... what is your issue with CHINA? But the best you can do is buy a bare bone system and buy the memory and hard drive you want.
Maybe the issue is accountability. Dell can be held accountable for installing anywhere, etc. These fly by night "no name brands" will close or rebrand before you even get the hardware delivered.

I ended up buying a oculink enabled box with 32 gb ram and 1 gb storage for about 2 hundred dollars more. So I think this is a good deal if you aren't going to need an EGPU gaming set up. Paired well with my 4070ti, no significant cpu or gpu throttling either way so didn't need to really adjust quality, good match. Running on 180 fps Acer, hitting above 100 on most games at QHD settings and medium quality.

I have the Minisforum UM760 Slim AMD Ryzen™ 5 7640HS with 1TB Kingston SSD and 16GB DDR5 RAM for $284 + taxes during Thanksgiving 2024. This same model now sells for over $500. Compared to that, this M1 deal is very decent given the memory price increase.

that's a great brand. I think that and Gee are the two premier. I think GMKtek tends to be better quality then usual (still not on par with minis/gee) with their higher end minis but the lower ends fall into acemagic level. A few brand reviews kind of show tiering with acemagic on the lower end, GMK is about the same depending on the model. But minisforum and gee are the two best from my understanding. I don't really do a lot in this space. I do build my own pc's for my friends and family on a regular basis but since these are almost all prebuilt or "barebones" but it's not the same barebones as a regular pc where you'd end up building it out.

Only recently, trying to decide between going with a laptop system vs a mini system with EGPU, I feel there's more performance retainment with a mini system and running indepedently GPU with a fast portable monitor so for those in a niche for those who are moving around time to time, but stationary in between moves.

While it appears everyone that's commented is a Windows user, I have the Mac Mini M1 8/256 base model..I switched from Windows to Mac years ago when my Win machine died. With Apple prices skyrocketing this deal is killer when compared to a comparable Mac Mini. So the question is moving files from the Mac to this machine which has 4 times the memory and twice as much storage which for my purposes is more than enough. From what I've read about Win 11, its superior to macOS Tahoe..is it possible to migrate data from the Apple time machine to a windows machine?
If you have a M1 Mac Mini I see little reason to get this unless you want another mini PC. And with this device you'd want to run Linux on it anyways, since it'll be quieter and run better.

There's a youtube video you can find of an Apple user picking up a m7 ultra and trying it with the Windows OS and then later Linux.
Reason to use Windows on your personal PC is more for games with anticheat that only has support for Windows. If not, Linux and MacOS are far better experiences.

Windows on a M7 ultra? I don't think so unless through emulation? I don't understand OS arguments about a product. If people want to buy it they want to buy it. Windows is fine in its own right. Just spend some time and debloat it. Linux is great. Mac is fine but software is nanny knows best in my opinion and hides the good stuff.

Curious about this one as well. Mac mini or this for plex server. i feel either would be a bit overkill but im also still on the dell edge servers from 10 years ago. LOL

I appreciate the response and info..having been a former Windows user, I find macOS and support superior. The memory limitation of my base model Mini can be frustrating so when I spot a deal on an M2 or M4 version I'll snag it. Thanks againshake head
