For the most part, we have been pretty happy with Ring. It's not perfect but it's been pretty solid. With Blink, not so much. I have had a few Blink cameras and hated them all. I've had 2 Sync modules and they both failed. One set up and quit recording after a few weeks. The other never did set up properly. I bought the cameras because of the long battery life. The night vision was awful and the motion detection was a joke. At times, a leaf blowing across the yard would set off the motion detection and I would get alerts every few minutes. Other times, I could do wind sprints back and forth in front of the camera and get nothing. My cameras are still up, but I removed the app. I'm too lazy to get the ladder and take them down. They'd have to pay me $30 to take this. There are more expensive cameras like Eufy and Arlo that undoubtedly better than Ring, but it suits my needs. Blink is garbage.
It's a "you get what you pay for" type of thing. If you just want a little piece of mind and don't want to pay a lot, Blink can be a good option, but if you are legitimately concerned about crime in your area or need rock-solid reliability to monitor an elderly parent or something, it may be better to go with Ring. There are even nicer options out there, but you'll likely pay more for them than either Ring or Blink. I like the ease of installation with Blink, and their cloud service has been convenient and reliable for me.
