For those of you with free T-Mobile lines (Line on us promos), not all lines are eligible for upgrades any longer.
https://tmo.report/2026/04/t-mobi...g-forward/
Regarding free lines, I have two LOUs from 2020 and free line of BOGO from early 2021 which continue to remain qualified for device promotions. However, I have one LOU from early 2021 and the free line of BOGO from early 2023 excluded.
T-Mobile continues to allow multiple EIPs on a single line as long as they have different promo codes. If a free line isn't eligible for device promo, use an eligible paid line for the purchase and use the phone on the free line.
I tried to do a similar deal at Costco last year with three devices and my plan would have gone up about $20 per line.

There is Fair Market Value issued first which you pay back for 24-months to make it even. This is convoluted math instead of just discounting the phone for the trade in and leave remaining as installments.
If plan eligible, then bill shouldn't go up.

Also, do you trade in in person at the kiosk and get your phone that day? Or do you just process the order at the kiosk and then you get your new phone by mail and have to trade in by mail?

you could also call Costco and do it over the phone.
you could also do it on Costco on the internet, this is a new way to purchase via Costco.
you can take the trade in device to a corporate store. Just be sure you get a physical receipt
or just mail it out...again, get a receipt.
Tmo may have some of the nicest, apparently helpful reps inthe business, but either they are simply lying to you when they say they're putting in an order/,making a note, or they have absolutely the worst possible, buggy, note-dropping IT system in the world. It took me 14 months and a dozen calls to get my gift card credit the last time I used Costco to upgrade my three phones on Tmo. Every time the rep would say it they were making a note, or that they were putting in a raised priority request. Every time I called back, there was never any record that anything had been done; sometimes there wasn't even a record that I had called.
As for the deal - thanks for putting it up OP! My wife is constantly fighting with the memory limit on her 128GB 15pro (and she rags on the battery so its down to 78% health). I was about to upgrade her to the 17pro and take the $830, but we're going to be out of town for a few days and I don' want it delivered while we were gone. I just wish they would continue the credits if you paid off the phone early; not having access to a UK/EU sim while overseas really sucks.
