The price is decent. No name brands can be had cheaper but don't cheap out on things that keep you alive.

Call your gas company if you suspect a leak. This is a free service.

How close does it have to be to detect gas? Can it detect gas from buttholes?

You will be scared to know how many micro leaks are going on at not just your house, but every house daily.

It's why there was that huge push to electric and induction. It has a measurable effect on greenhouse gases. So yes the electric causes more greenhouse gas but the removal of micro leaks make up for it
lol I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with people now having to pay 5x more for electric than gas..surely surely...New Englanders that have had this bs foisted on them would disagree with you

It should. Both natural gas and farts are essentially methane.

I can see this being helpful in an RV to check for propane leaks.

The cheaper one I had worked pretty well though it had a delay. The one thing I noticed was an expiration date. I'm assuming the sensor it used was organic or something that reduced effectiveness over time. Not sure about this one, but YMMV on long term effectiveness if it'll sit on the shelf most of the time
