Right now you can get it refurbished for $2,339.00

https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/...efurbished

Or $2,105.10 when you call in and give them the serial number of any Canon camera that's out of service.

Edit: To clarify, you get 10% off when you call in.

It looks like this camera is the same price at a lot of sites. May as well get it at Adorama with extras.

Why anyone will spend that much on older camera almost 6 years old ... even R5 Mark II is two years old...

This is way overpriced for what it practically delivers. It's better to invest in a good lens instead of top of the line camera.

Cameras hold their value a lot longer than other consumer electronics like phones, laptops, etc. just look at prices for a D850 and wonder why prices haven't dropped like an old cellphone.

Because even at 6 years old it's still a fantastic camera. Cameras aren't like most consumer electronics. They hold their value extremely well because there aren't huge jumps in advancement between most generations. You aren't going to get something better without a decent price jump and even then, how much better depends on exactly what you're doing with it and will most likely be incremental.

Is this a thing on all Canon refurb bodies, or just this particular one?

After owning Canon entry level T5 (15 yrs ago) and then 80D (10 yrs ago), I love to swith to Sony and love Alpha 7... one reason, it has many 3rd party lenses which is as good as Sony for half the price. Canon still keep it lens locked or not allow 3rd party to manufacture...

dropped cannon after going from dslr to mirrorless, best decision ever, their restriction of 3rd party lenses only make more people turning away from Canon, and made everything ridiculously expensive

Great camera, although at this price I'd likely point them towards the newer R6iii, unless that extra 12.5MP is necessary for ones work.
