Do you have the same problem with the gas ones?Wink
No, because they actually meet the definition of a generator. They produce electricity on their own, they don't just store and deliver it.

These have had a lot of technical issues when charging via solar. Hopefully they have a system update that has fixed but I can't confirm. I've bought 2 and both had problems and luckily was able to take back to Costco before 30 days.

The gas ones don't even do that...without gas!

Is Jackery UL listed yet?

Can this discharge 240v while plugged into and charging from a 120v?
Pecron 5000 can, and is $700 cheaper

Think of it this way. A gas generator does not generate gasoline right? It should be called "gasoline powered electricity generator" and "solar powered electricity generator" but that does not exactly roll off the tongue, so the short form is a reasonable descriptive choice.
Good point, but RoryR1989 makes a good argument as well. A gas powered generator converts fuel into power. Without the optional solar panels, a 'solar generator' isn't converting anything it's just a storage unit as far as I know. It's like a Gatorade bucket, it doesn't make the gatorade, it just holds the gatorade until you need a refill.

"enough to keep your entire home running through extended outages."

Define your whole home because I'm sure there is equipment this won't run.

I never understand the ridiculous arguments about this subject... None of these devices being discussed actually "generate" anything, without external sources. The gas/propene generator people can't stand that these power stations are often called solar generators. Try using one of your gas generators without purchasing and adding gas, see what you are able to generate. My guess is you will be staring at a very heavy expensive brick that won't generate a thing. Solar generators won't do anything more either, at least once the charge that the device was shipped with runs out.

However if you have a solar panel or maybe several of them, and some free sun. You have a renewable energy source. Kind of feels like you are generating power out of nowhere when you charge the power station battery, and then it converts it to usable electricity.

I am waiting for price average $300/1KWH. This is $1000 over the mark. Why is it even a deal?
because slickdeals should be renamed slickshills. this is not a deal at all. has been $500 lower than this. front page? what a joke.

obviously there is some concerted shilling going on to generate affiliate commissions. or jackery employees were ordered to register SD accounts and click thumbs up on overpriced deals like this.

major thumbs down. not a good price.

"Jackery" seems to be a very appropriate name for a "solar generator" that clearly isn't a solar generator. There's a lot of jackery going on here. Good luck with your purchase 😄.

Keep in mind the Pecron has three online 0ms ports (two 20A, one 30A) and two backup 8-20ms ports. However, because all of the online ports share a single 3600W power leg, you are capped at 3600W of true 0ms UPS protection. In order to utilize the full 7200W rated output, you have to pull the remaining 3600W from the backup ports, meaning you forego the 0ms feature on half of your power capacity. This is also the case if you utilize the 240V port on either the Pecron or the Jackery, as bridging the two internal inverters forces the 240V output to rely on the slower 8-20ms transfer time.

ok, uhm thanks?

I was just answering the question about outputting 240v, while receiving 120v.
I did not say anything about 120v output, let alone UPS or power cutover speed.

As a potential buyer who is currently looking for some type of system like this, comments like this are both helpful and pointless. If this isn't a "Slick Deal," point to one that is. I see posts like this all the time, and they make no sense since nothing is shown to contradict the original deal.

I just bought this and I would buy the pecron f5000 over this and save some $. I did also order the F5000 too. The pecron will have variable charging if that important to you. If you need to spread out the charging load or use a small inverter generator. This will draw at least 1300w so it will not work for a lot of smaller inverter generators. I own a Pecron e3600 and I was so surprised to see how much more features the pecron has over this much more expensive Jackery.
