I took a chance and ordered this since the $299 price is cheap for an 1800 watt power station. I found some Walmart reviews of this and there were some complaints that it takes a long time to fully charge with the included power brick, but at this price point I can live with that.

Not bad. Good brand and enough battery to back up a standard fridge for ~24 hours.

I have a different model but the standby draw of the AC inverter is pretty high. If you forget and leave the AC outlets on it'll drain your battery in a few hours.

Still a good price though. Note, there is a separate AC/DC power adapter for charging it from a wall outlet. I guess it reduces costs, size, and weight of the unit itself but at home you won't care. And you probably won't charge it from a wall during camping.

I ordered one 2 days ago and it is out for delivery today. $299 looks standard for the price (I've been tracking) but the $15 code SD236 worked for me, too.

A mini fridge maybe, a standard fridge? No chance.

You lose a lot of the max capacity to the inverter and general efficiency drop. Standard fridges vary greatly in wattage used per hour, but let's call it 200 on the lower end.

At 80% efficiency and 200 watts per hour, you're going to get just short of 6 hours of a standard fridge. .

Pros: SUPER GOOD price per Wh. It'll be hard pressed to find anything cheaper than this. Now the cons. This is an old discontinued model and outside of the really good price per Wh and good inverter wattage, most all its other specs specs fall short of any newer model units. Even the newer model Oupes units, which really don't cost much more. For example, Although it's now sold out, The Oupes exodus 1500 was selling for $300. It charges 400% faster than this at 800 watts AC vs 200. This unit is going to take 8 to 9 hrs to charge from AC. On top of the painfully slow charging, it still uses an old school proprietary charging brick, not a regular cord like all the modern units use. You can double it to 400, but you need to shell out another 100 dollars for a second charger, which still only maxes you out at 400 watts, and now you've spent 400 dollars not, 300 so you can throw the good price per Wh I mentioned earlier out the window, and now you have to use and carry 2 very large old style power bricks to charge it. The newer Oupes units like the comparable exodus 1500 charges with just a regular pc style power cord at 800 watts vs 200 for this one, gives you 140 watt USBC ports, vs 60 for this one. The truth is, this is an older discontinued model & has many drawbacks but for me, the biggest drawback is the painfully slow 200 watt charging and having to use a power brick to charge it. Lastly, It only takes 400 watts max solar but you cant even use a 400 watt panel, because just like the AC charging, you have to use 2 separate 200 watt max inputs. So your forced to use 2 200 watt panels to charge at max solar. Just really bad design.

Thats pretty good tho. You don't need to power the fridge the whole time, just enough to keep everything cool till power comes back on.

Pass. This takes 8-9 hours to charge from a wall outlet, it's capped at 200w no thanks I'll pass. If the power outage is longer than the 1400Wh available than it's painfully long to recharge. There are plenty of others that charge up to 80% in an hour which is great if you got a gas/propane or even powerful solar.

In An emergency situation you can power the fridge for moments of time and leave it unplugged for an hour and plug it back in to cool back down for a bit. And repeat.

The only problem with this unit is that charging is a bit slow- both solar and AC is: 2*200W (with 7909 Charging Port)
The newer units charge at:
Fast AC Charging
1400W Max
  • Slow AC Charging700W
  • Solar Charging800W Max, 12-78V DC
    MPPT: 16-70V, 13A Max
I think that is why these older units are on clearance. Great price though if speed charging isn't an issue.
