Before Christmas I bought the same machine with 64gb ram and 4tb drive for this price. This is getting offensive. It's like raising gas to $4.50 a gallon so when it gets back to $3 we think it's cheap.

MicroCenter PowerSpec is cheaper for better gaming cpu ($2499.00) and often has open box for $2249.99
https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-gaming-pc

Or for same specs (minus integrated graphics) with better ram speed and arguably better airflow you can get from NewEgg
https://www.newegg.com/andromeda-...006J-000D0
I would not consider 5080 a deal for anything over $2400 though.

Unfortunately, these are times we are living in now, and it's not going to change anytime soon. If anything, it's only going to get worse. I remember the deal you're referring to because I was among the people who posted it during BF last year.

I have this exact machine, bought for BF last year. Yes, it was $600 cheaper back then but I highly recommend it for both gaming and regular use. It's been rock-solid for me. It's tremendously heavy though, so make sure you buy a roller stand or something to put it on if you at all plan to move it (for cleaning or whatever)

People need to wait out this bubble. Don't reward their greed. Unless you need a PC just relax. It will pop. It always does.

You see how many people downvoted? If you listen to the rich, they are praising the great president because apparently the policies are making them a lot of money by "promoting innovation", "giving the breaks to businesses", so they can "create more jobs". Yet when the price issue is brought up, they quickly blame some mayoral election in LA that has "fraud" because they didn't count vote ballots received after the election closed. Such weird minds they have.

From somebody who used to teach economics, business IS how money is made. If your business does insanely well, you make enormous gobs of money and create jobs. When policy hurts business, it eliminates the middle class, picks winners (like big box stores during COVID) and guts losers (like Mom and Pop) busineses.
The rich are already insanely powerful. They can Epstein it up all they like. They will never pay the consequences, and they will never pay taxes. They already control the government in every way possible through closed door deals and our "representatives" absolutely do not represent us.
But policy matters. You mentioned LA. That city is bleeding middle class left and right. Only the rich and impoverished remain to lap up what's left. There's no question that LA has horrible policies that have created real problems that made a lot of people very mad, and a lot of people very dead. The same for Maui.
The same goes for Iran. Bad policy to force regime change half a century ago. Bad policy to let them enrich uranium unchecked for years. Bad policy for Europe to push zero population, then try to replace their workforce with immigration, which got out of control. There are consequences to bad policy.
If you want to eat the rich, go ahead. But bad policy fed them in the first place. Policies that made big box stores like Amazon and Walmart billions during a pandemic where we were all FORCED to shop there. Mad at Elon? Government gave huge incentives to go electric. Every billionaire has perfected the art of leeching off government... Leeching off our tax money. You need to ask yourself: which administrations enriched billionaires and monopolized busineses the most? Which party gets the most donations from billionaires?
