Alternatively $250 from eBay with 2 year warranty, but Slickdeals member coastalconn mentioned he used the "make an offer" option and was successful with a $210 offer.

Good specs but no real reviews... Is this the model that gets returned / refurbed often for leaking refrigerant?

Based off the many times this has been posted on here, it's a complete crapshoot. Some people get a great working almost new units. Others get ones with issues or missing parts and Walmart makes returning it difficult.

This is refurbished and sold from Midea so it should be like new. Also states a 90 day return policy

Just received my unit from Walmart today. It looked new but came in a refurbished box. It didn't blow cold air and was flashing a P1 error. Turned out the water bucket was full. It worked great as soon as we emptied the water. I'm happy about the price but was taken back by the water issue. I'm surprised it didn't spill all over the box while shipping.

Mine was delivered on Friday and it seems like it is basically new. Filter was spotless, all accessories came with it. So far, I am happy with it.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank coastalconn

I offered 210 on ebay direct from midea since it comes with a 2 year warranty and they accepted it. Felt like rolling the dice and seeing how the inverter works since all three of mine are just regular.

Anybody else missing the adapter for a horizontal sliding window from the last slickdeal? (horizontal AC hose to vertical AC slot).

Has anyone put one in the garage and duct up into attic? I don't have a window in garage.

Honestly in your situation you should just buy a DIY mini-split kit.

For the eBay purchase, the return window is 30 days and buyer pays for return shipping.
Walmart, 90 day return, returnable to store.

I'd rather take a 90 day return to Walmart option over shipping it back to Midea, even without a 2 year warranty.

These units are honestly among the best you're going to be able to get as far as portable A/C's go. We keep 3 of these downstairs for the living room, dining room and kitchen for the truly hot and humid days of the summer where it creeps into the house. The dual hose is absolutely necessary to get any real cooling done, single hose units are like a last resort stop-gap when you absolutely cannot get a real window unit.
However if you have the option of using a window unit, 100% absolutely definitely get the Midea U-shaped window A/C's. Those are basically mini-splits for your window and are the absolute best outside of a real, dedicated heatpump install.

Returning mine from Walmart. Mine looked relatively new but immediately popped an EC54 error and had a bent vent.

Going to try my luck with the ebay hisense 8000 BTU for $200 because this unit was also simply too big for my small room

Don't duct into ceiling unless it's well ventilated and insulated ceiling.

I bought two of these and lost the dice roll both times. Both units were missing the window attachment for horizontally sliding windows. Customer service from Midea didn't help and said to return it. Returns at Walmart were easy, but require you to bring it into a store. Sounds like some people got lucky, but it's a hassle if you don't.
Not sure why they're allowed to market these as "Like New" condition and claim that all accessories are included when the QC is as poor as it is.
