but Dell is watering down the XPS branding for a budget, entry level laptop in an attempt to help sales.
The entry level/base model is $599(EDU) and comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
so you're paying $150 more for the 16GB RAM.
problem with the entry level model is 8GB RAM with windows 11... lol
install LTSC or do some major windows debloating and it might be "OK" barely.

If you guys are paying anything close to $500 for this you need to be looking elsewhere. I was a buyer for a rather large org and it's been painful watching people get butchered for no reason—for everyone's sake, check secondary markets. This shit is criminal.
Well one of the things XPS stands out over other consumer line Dell laptops is build quality, not just CPU performance. People get too hung up on CPU, which most users don't really need. However, a 2.2 lbs TOUCHSCREEN aluminum laptop is CRAZY. To me, aluminum feels so much more premium than the magnesium alloy that a lot of company uses to keep weight down, which feels like plastic. Let's also not forget about the 2.5k 500 nit 120hz screen. I would love to see this in real life. Yes, the only thing I would wish is 32gb ram option. Also, how is this CPU for battery life? Is it like lunar lake?
I do like things about Macs, and the Apple hardware is generally very nice (we have Macs in the house but they aren't mine). I also appreciate that Macs can last a long time. But so can Windows computers. The one I'm using right now is 12 years old and works great... but it was not a low end computer when new. Apple is good about making sure even the "low end" computers aren't low end (often even in price).
