I suggest avoiding Amazon, or at least pay attention who the seller is. I am certain there are sellers who sell fake OEM parts.
Yeah, some things I won't buy from Amazon, like memory cards as an example.

You might think at Amazon and eBay you're buying an OEM part. The Chinese are good at copying everything down to OEM packaging.

Much cheaper than going local the downside is you need to wait for the part to come.

I've ordered a lot of parts from rockauto and still compare. Their closeouts sometimes can't be beat, but return shipping is always a concern.

Yeah that's the name of the game when I use it... but sometimes worth it because some parts are hard to find elsewhere
yup. i think this is part of how they are able to keep their prices so low is by encouraging users to buy items from the same warehouse.
My strategy is to use them when the main part I need now is still cheaper than anywhere else. Then i will stock up on other stuff I know I'll eventually need anyway like filters, wiper blades, etc that happen to ship from the same location.

There is no phone customer service. I ordered exhaust and it did not fit correctly as advertised. I had to figure it out on my own or pay to ship back their mistake. Not doing that again. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) .
They are very responsive via email.

Most collision shops order from rockauto. Customers are then charged full "autozone" price

Little kept industry secret

Amazon is flooded with Chinese parts. Especially the reviews on auto parts are seller generated. Fake upvotes.

They never responded to my email. I had to figure a solution out for myself. When you pull an exhaust system off a vehicle, you can't just wait for someone to get back to you in a few days, if ever. You have to complete the work or the vehicle is unusable for who knows how long!

I had a control arm that was made with the wrong size connection. After answering some questions they sent me the RA label and 2 day shipped the replacement part for free after I shipped back the defective part. It is always cheaper that the brick and mortar stores around me, so I always order with them if im not in a hurry for the parts

RockAuto sells OEM parts that are relabeled. Bought ignition coils that turned out to be Toyota OEM but cheaper

RockAuto is no longer bueno IMHO and I don't use them any more. I am definitely not alone in that sentiment based upon various Reddit and YouTuber opinions as well. The bizzare mix of multiple items and multiple warehouse shipping costs coupled with terrible packaging, old/stale parts, broken and/or missing items has just become too frequent with them. If you do go with them be sure to go over your order with a fine tooth comb to look for defects, damage and/or if it is even the right part. Waiting until you actually start working on the vehicle and are past the return policy is where people get the most frustrated. My last order included radiator/heater hoses that were supposedly name brand but they did not have any tags and were so squishy I returned them for a refund. That order also had a new AC condenser that came with a complimentary dent in the top that had perforated the fine mesh coils along the face. The packaging was absolutely fine so it had to have happened at the warehouse. Just sharing my own experiences so YMMV...
