I love this series. I'm currently just about finished with number five.

Same! I'm also on number 5!

Book 3 was the best, followed by book 1.

I did the first 3 books on Audible with the full cast and it was glorious. I haven't jumped into the next three yet since i'm working on Dungeon Crawler Carl. I did buy the special edition of the first book to display and i've been tempted to get this as well, but it's been this price for awhile so no rush. For audible listeners I highly recommend the full cast version, they are really good.

I recently got into audiobooks—starting with Project Hail Mary, which my wife recommended—and now I'm completely hooked. Right now, I'm listening to Morning Star (the third book) through Hoopla via my local library. It's fantastic, completely free, and has actually made my morning commutes enjoyable for a change!

I think for me I'd say 2 then 3 then 1. It's pretty close between 2 and 3 though. I'm on 4 now and having a really hard time with the switching perspectives. Trying to push through.

Would this be good as a series for a 14 year old? For anyone who has read it.

Definitely not. If you're looking for a new series for a 14 year old maybe try We Are Legion: We Are Bob.

I had the same problem with book 4. Book 5 is the same way BUT it switches less. 3-4 chapters in a row as same perspective.

I've read 1-4 twice. I get to book 5 and it's terrible. Twice. Never made it through.

Well I think it would be good for a 14 year old. Touchy topics: Rape, sodomy? murder, revolution, maiming. There are no topics in here that don't happen in the good book.
