These phones are no good. Do not recommend. These all have 3rd party replacement parts

To check if your iPhone has aftermarket or replaced parts, use the built-in iOS Parts and Service History feature.Open your Settings app.Tap on General.Tap on About.Look for the Parts and Service History section.

This menu will only show if iPhone has had some parts replaced. It was also tell you if it's original Apple parts or 3rd party which will be listed as unknown

I bought a iPhone 13 Pro Max last month from woot in refurbished good condition. It doesn't show any part and service history. The condition of the phone is good so I kept it.

Yep. These are phones where it was more profitable to sell them bulk, sight unseen to people that dont know any better. Vs try to sell them on ebay
Also. Doesn't woot make it harder to return stuff?
woot has basically a no return policy unless there's something broken.

If anyone is tempted, just beware that they're most likely opened and have aftermarket components (screen, etc)

What do you mean? Just return it, then do a charge back on your credit card if they give you trouble.

Wow, did not pay for quick shipping but it got here quick. 16e, looks pristine. Checked the list:
Face ID
Wifi
Bluetooth
eSim
Speakers
Earpiece Speaker
All buttons
Front and rear cameras
Battery 100%
About section in Settings and there was nothing about repairs
Zero cosmetic issues on the physical phone

Not sure what else to check. Seems like a keeper. First activation was in March. Seeing the comments here, I guess you really do need to get a newer model, or else you roll the dice.

It's hit or miss for sure! I ordered 2 and returned one that had a lot of scratches on the screen and camera lens.

one of them has a really scratched body. I think it was trade in. Camera & Screen was fine

Before you buy, keep in mind what "Grade A" actually means here:
While "Grade A" means it will look pretty on the outside, there are a few major gambles you take with these specific deals:
  • The Battery Lottery: They only guarantee battery health above 80%. If your iPhone or Watch arrives at 81% or 82%, the battery is already chemically degraded. You'll be charging it twice a day, and a replacement at the Apple Store ($70–$100+) instantly kills any savings you got here.
  • Non-Genuine Parts: Third-party liquidators love cheap aftermarket screens and batteries. Don't be surprised if you boot it up and get the annoying iOS "Unknown Part Detected" warnings, or notice the screen colors/brightness look a bit off.
  • Zero Water Resistance: The moment these third-party shops pop the screen open to refurbish or inspect the device, the factory waterproof seal is broken. Do not take that Apple Watch into the pool or shower.
  • The $140 Bait: The $140 entry price is usually for near-obsolete models (like a 64GB iPhone 11 or an ancient Watch Series) that are losing iOS support anyway. Once you spec it up to a modern, relevant model, the pricing usually isn't any better than Swappa or eBay Refurbished.
Solution -- Looks for deals which get posted in this platform itself for new, latest Phones ( which sometimes cost same as these refurbished phones) but may ask for trade in and or 1 Month of Service..

Bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB last time around for $499 ($30 cheaper than this deal) and it was in like new condition with 100% battery life, but the iPhone 13 mini was at 85% so I guess it's the luck of the draw with these refurbs. Interestingly enough, the 14 Pro Max was still on iOs 18.2 while the 13 mini was updated to iOs 26.4.

Received my 2 iphone 12 128 GB version yesterday. Both are decent and battery charges to 100%. Barely any scratches and I will be keeping them. Did the latest ios updates and it went through just fine.
