Worth noting that there have been a lot of reports of quality control issues leading to blue screens on the Acer laptops from this gen.

I would spend the extra $200 and get the Costco version which comes with a 5070 ti, 90 day return policy, and a better warranty.

Normally I would disagree as I've owned several refurbished Acer gaming laptops over the years and never had a single issue. But this gen..... ehhh.... I don't like what they did with the Nitro lineup with the weak power supply issues and then the Helios Neo 16S (which I bought) was hot as hell and had piss poor battery life when they made it slim for no benefit whatsoever.
But I had not heard of there being any real issues with Helios Neo 16. Not that this is a good price when it's a 5070 (non ti). But prices have been crap for a while now.

Is it the same with the version Neo (without S) 5070ti? It has the same price but I'm worried about that, and in that case I'll definitely not look from this gen

I had one, it died from MicroCenter in the first 6 days. They replaced it and it had been fine for about a month. I was told that "Acer made a comeback," by a sales guy... But I bought the 3 year "no questions 100%" warranty.

I don't know that I would ever buy an Acer again without at least a warranty. But then again, my Alienware died 12 days outside of its one year warranty and I was hosed.

I have one, the 5070 ti neo 16 (non-s) from acer refurb on eBay a few months back for $1300 or so. I actually really like it, the cooling is pretty good so I can play many games at native resolution on quiet mode without the fans at full blast, a pretty rare thing for gaming laptops imo

Had a 4080 16inch predator. Died 3 months after the warranty expired. Have a 4060 18 inch. Still going strong. Warranty long past gone. Hit or miss. Just wish the 4080 i9 wasn;t the one that crapped out. Instead the i7 and 4060 survives. Just my luck.Acer wanted the same cost for repair as I could buy a refurbished 4090 predator so I laughed and hung up. My last acer product for sure.

The cooling on this series is pretty great, doesn't struggle to keep the 5070 Ti on mine in the low 80s at full load
I will say that Acer bloat can be an inconvenience, and I find the combination of Intel Smart Sound Technology and Realtek audio controllers to be... Poor at best in my experience. The drivers between the two fought too much for me, and I ended up disabling the Intel SST device, which means I can't use the built in mic array.
Otherwise, I definitely like the laptop

My msi laptop warranty ended while the unit was in transit to have the fans replaced and they refused to swap them. I just had them return it and replaced them my self. The fan are so bad I've replaced about 8 since I got the laptop in 2017. Their impellers hang by just the bearing.

Do all gaming laptops like Acer Predator and similar have poor battery even if you use it for web browsing or youtube? I read mixed reviews on this as some say you get at most 1 or 2 hours even when web browsing. However, some people say lenovo legion you can get 3-5 hours. Some people who have asus g14 with a 5070 or 5070ti say they can get 6 hours or more. This is obviously when using the default graphics card and not the nvidia one.

But are all gaming laptops besides lenovo legion and asus g14 going to have very bad battery? People mention how gaming laptops getting hot as well. So it applies to most gaming laptops except the lenovo legion and asus g14? The thing that has me confused is since the asus g14 is 14 inches, doesn't it get more hot and have more issues because the screen is smaller?
Would it have better or worst or same battery if it was say a ryzen 9 instead?
