10G is much more expensive and takes a ton of electricity. 2.5G is the sweet spot.
Edit: WTF I just realized this is the SAME ONE I bought "on sale" from Amazon for $100 last year on august 1, 2025. It dropped 50%? are you kidding me?

Just for a use case, I have 2Gb Cityside fiber to the house, I was originally hanging these switches off the back of four TP-Link XE75 Pros (2.5G in but only 1G out), but there is definitely a conflict between these and the CG-NAT of Cityside when using a lot of IoT devices.
I just picked up 3 Eero 7 Pros during the prime days (had the additional benefit of them offering a 20% discount via an 'upgrade" discount due to prior older network purchases). Glad to report that all my previous disconnect issues have gone away and I have a solid 90 IoT devices constantly connected.
As long as you don't have one of these 2.5G switches between the ONT and the master Eero, you can dot them around the house at will. I have wired ethernet backhaul to two locations in the house, with an Eero 7 Pro at the end, with one of these switches attached to the remaining ethernet port on the Eero. Works great so far. Unlike the Deco networking, Eeros don't have the facility for a dedicated IoT network, so I'm using the guest network dedicated for them, as I don't need to share a temporary connection in the house. Just a hint, I'm also using the old XE75 Pros (which go off TP-Link support in September 2026) dumbed down APs, with the WiFi set to 2.4 Ghz as a few of my IoT don't see the connections at faster speed. The Eeros Guest network doesn't seem to be able to lock in the guest network to 2.4Ghz hence the Deco AP WiFi option.
At $49 you really cannot go wrong, I bought the first one for (from memory) about $149, the second at $129 and just bought another two at this $49.99 price.
Why would you want a managed switch? Is there something you can do via a managed switch that you cannot do on the router? Not being a jerk here, interested . . .
