I own the one without the cable, and find it to be a superior product.

...and I've tried a lot of these. There was a lot of thought put into this particular device.

I may buy another...and part of its appeal to me is that there is no cable.

chances are yeah. Deals will be better on prime day. But if this is what you need i suggest you buy it then just return if a better one comes along.
