I remember it being $369 at HD but that was several months ago (back in March) but it pretty much cost over $400 when you added the required $35 shipping fee since no HDs had them in stock. When was it $380?

I can't help to wonder if you can do the old return hack like we did for the DeWalt DW735 planer. The software offered like $80 off just keep it instead of returning it, because they don't want to have to pay for the return shipping.

Things to consider: This thing is heavy like your cuz that eats twinkies & pizza, so get the bosch or ridgid portable miter stand. Also, there's no drop shadow line, which is the bees knees if you ever used one. This thing is corded, so you need outlet power. Positives: the blue & red color looks slick, dual bevel, decent blade, sliding to cut through large pieces plank or posts, and best feature is front arm, so can place closer to back wall in your garage if space is an issue.

This is a top end miter saw. The weight doesn't matter if you're putting it in a station, and is manageable with the (very nice but very expensive) zero gravity stand, assuming you're not taking it up/down stairs or something.

It's hard to tell right now if the new model is actually an improvement or just a value engineered version; it is quite a bit lighter, but that's not necessarily a good thing.

Previous sales blew through stock in a hurry.

I saw that they sell 3D printed brackets to attach a portable olight clip on LED. Going to try it out on my saw. But yeah, this thing is stupid heavy.

The new one coming out next month is supposedly 10 lbs lighter. For something with such an awkward geometry, 10 lbs is actually quite significant esp if you need to carry it through doorways. I'm pretty sure I'm going to bang things up when I need to transport it. This is the type of saw that ideally, you have a place to set it longterm.

I wish I had a need for something this large and heavy, but like most homeowners, I do not

Take a bat to a wall and jump through it. Tell your wife you tripped on a sock and now you need a miter saw to fix the damage. There's your excuse.

hahahahahaha! These gigantic 12" miter saws are a little like 14" band saws: FB marketplace is filled with "used once, or no longer have the need" units. Bosch makes great tools, but for me, a 10" table saw with a good blade and an accurate miter gauge is far more useful. YMMV
