Is the correct term starter handheld or gateway handheld?

Claims "15000" and that is likely NOT an exaggeration however there will be a lot of duplicates, "hacks" (which is basically fan made DLC, sequels, unleased games, etc....some of which can be pretty epic), games never meant for the US market, etc. Also, many of these game cards are really poorly organized. Games oddly have numbers in front of them so don't alphabetize, or will have words like "The" in front of the title, again ruining alphabetizing, and so on (or just named wrong). I'd still guess there are 3000-5000 real US market games spread across umpteen systems based on the last time I bought a R36S.

Most people will suggest ditching the card entirely and loading your own games on a name brand SD card which isn't of questionable quality.

TLDR Yes, it will be playable straight out of the box with plenty of games.

I've never owned the G350 (honestly, I don't know why since I've bought 20+ handhelds in the last year...) but my understanding is the G350 is slightly better than the R36S. Similar performance but a little higher quality, and some upgrades like L3/R3, better buttons overall, and maybe a better screen. However the R36S has lots of 3rd party OS's options so is much more customizable if that is your thing.

*I've also seen a bunch of people claim the G350 is an unbranded Anbernic but I have no idea if that is actually true. Seems to be repeated so often I kinda assume it is though.

I'm just so confused with all these similar looking handhelds from the last 2 years.

With memory being so expensive these days you're basically buying a 64GB memory card and getting a free handheld game system.

I would not trust the memory card that comes with these. At all.

So a way I got to fix this was opening the folder using vs code and having Claude or chatGPT reorganize the card files. Simple command like "rename all the files in this folder so that it's more discoverable in the system. Remove words like the and a so that games are properly alphabetized. Also remove any duplicate games or titles"

FWIW, I do a slightly different concept but also lean on AI. I ask AI to generate prompts for me which I then input into PowerRename (part of MS PowerToys). You can get really granular control of your naming systems without worrying about the coding aspect. Especially helpful cleaning up all the duplicate games that just have different regions, or abbreviations flooding the folders (for example "U" vs "US" vs "USA" or the 87 different Europe's / Japan's).

7z is also super helpful for unzipping massive amounts of roms.

I also tend to purge any and all games that have certain keywords that I'll never play. Basketball, Baseball, "Megaman" (yeah, I said it), casino, Pokemon, (yep, those too!) Disney, Barbie, etc. Oh, and anything with "translated" or "hack" in the file name. I'm sure it is different for everyone but just massive sweep of stuff like that with a simple Windows folder search can make the roms list so much more manageable.
