edit: never mind the xr+ is $99.99 but reviewers seem disappointed with range
I had two or three electricians come in to replace the transformer to match the voltage and current needed by the doorbell and it would still not work.
To make matters worse every time I would call into blink support from Amazon chat app they would answer questions with questions on why didn't you call us earlier.. but they didn't realize that the transformers had to be ordered and then the electrician had to come back and try to replace it.
1- The first thing I would say is oversize your transformers, budget for an electrician.
2- The wiring can be a challenge and if you're a DIY or you're going to struggle
3- these doorbells are not easy to troubleshoot because the diagnostics are the settings makes you walk through the entire cycle of reset up, to change the voltage there's a slider on the app but that does not activate and does not give you the feedback on the connectivity.
4. strangely it does not come with the plastic/shim angle mount. I had to buy this separately which was about 10 bucks or not bad. but the electricians and the transformers did add up.
This is mainly for the wired, since you want a powered doorbell. The reason you want a wired doorbell, is to avoid replacing the expensive batteries they can drain very rapidly depending on what your house is facing/usage.
