I set this up in a vacation house for family in another state. The wireless cameras had issues connecting ting directly to box cable modem/router so I had to buy google mesh WiFi pro to use in bridge mode. Same issue also with xfinity modem and blink camera wireless that we use at main residence. But great sale price. I paid $50 back in early May with HD doorbell and outdoor camera bundle . I'd order another but have no use for another doorbell

I've used these cameras alongside a base sync module and an SD card for the last few years. The cameras themselves are good - the sensitivity adjustments, picture clarity and battery life are all serviceable. What's annoying about using the SD card and not the subscription is that it takes much longer to access your recordings - on 5G it's around like 10 seconds for the clips to load. The other negative of using an SD card as opposed to the subscription is that when the camera recordings are triggered you don't get a thumbnail of what is on the cameras.

I already have a Sync Module 2 and was looking to replace a Ring doorbell with a Blink one, so this is kind of a no brainer for me. Thanks OP!

Requires subscription
Best reason to go with Blink was no subscription needed.

I had Blink few years ago and I really like the cameras and the module that can use a USB flashdrive to record - I moved and left the cameras to the new owner. Anything changed, I read here that it needs subscription or purchase a separate module XR? Is that means I am anot able to record out of the box?

App very sluggish on the no subscription model, keep getting "System is busy, please wait" message when doing anything. Lots of patience required

I was looking at these, it's a good deal until I found out that the module doesn't have a backup USB drive, forcing you to get the subscription. 😔

I remember reading if you have Blink cameras and signed up with them years ago, you are grandfathered in which means it's free forever. But there is some premium to pay like extra storage on the cloud. If you never sign up with Blink, you have to get subscription. So that I'm not too sure. Need to read up on it.

Please elaborate? How does it work without subscription?
you can access the video however this system I had 13 of these cameras.
This system is terrible. So you have 5 cameras say.
want to filter so you only see the video of ONE camera.
the thumbnaisl only update manually (Subsciption only to update them)
Im forgetting all the things that are bad about blink because I moved on but buy ONE eufy camera and a blink. Play with them both. See which one you are returning within 30 days.

Yea that is subscription only. (Shouldnt be but is)
there are a whole bunch of regular features with a camera system like what I switched to "Eufy" which had basic functions that are only subscription based.

plus the subscription used to be 99. They raised it to 125 this year. I did NOT renew. I am slowly replacing everything with Eufy which works like this system does but with ZERO subscription.

Unless you buy the subscription. (I had it for a year) it is a horrible system

I have a bunch of the newer cameras and the old XT2 cameras across 2 properties. The only reason I keep using them is because I'm grandfathered into no subscription. They work well enough for my needs, but if I had big security concerns I would not count on these at all. They can be slow to respond and sometimes they won't pick up motion at all. The app is not very advanced and they don't integrate well with other systems like Home Assistant.

Is this worth it over the original door bell cameras or really no difference?
