I'm not a fan of the PowerStack. Dewalt was supposed to replace everything with Powerstack line but apparently that did not happen.

im not sure how 20v 5ah can be 50% more powerful than a non-powerstack 20v 5ah, as Ah is a measurement of how much electric charge a battery can store and deliver over a period of time. so its either 5ah or its not.

Good deal, I got the $129 deal last month with 2 powerstack 5ah but no charger. I have 4 DeWalt chargers anyway, but still this beats it out by a little.

You've got some correct info here but capacity ≠ power.

Ah IS the amount a battery can store & deliver, but that is not the same as power (that can deliver can vary widely between batteries). A 5ah PS and a basic 5ah battery are both 5ah total, but if the PS delivers that 5ah more quickly resulting in more power. Some of the battery techs can deliver more amperage (not to be confused with amp hours).
You won't see a difference in these batteries when using them with a flashlight or a small drill/impact driver but you'll notice you're able to do work a bit faster with something like a circular saw that can draw much more current from the battery.

Think of it as having 2 5gal buckets filled with water, the 5 gal of water is your ah. You drill a 1/2" hole into one and the other you just dump it out, these holes (1/2" in one and the top of the bucket in the secod) are relative to the current draw. Power is relative to how fast the water is depleted in each.

Battery tech is lithium vs lithium.
How it's packaged is the difference.
The 18650 and 21700 are tried and true batteries that offers excellent mechanical stability, cost-effectiveness, and high durability.
Pouch cells are fragile, like to swell and run hot.
Ever seen a cell phone battery swell? Yep, that's what you'll eventually start seeing in the Powerstacks.

gonna say say no here, as 5ah is a measurement, if it were quicker there would be more amps per hour. think of this you cant have one timer be an hour and another be an hour, but one finishes the hour quicker. delivering amperage is literally amp hours.

I'm telling you as someone who knows this, not as someone trying to figure it out. I'm going to use simple numbers here but...

Let's assume:
Battery1 has 5ah capacity and is old battery tech
Battery2 has 5ah capacity and is new battery tech (POWERSTACK)
Battery1 can supply 5amps to device, Battery2 is more efficient and can supply 10amps.
Battery1 takes 1 hour to deliver its full capacity, Battery2 takes 1/2 hour to deliver its full capacity.
Battery1 supplied 5amps for 1 hour, 5A X 1h = 5ah

if the both batteries are rated 5ah and 20volts, both batteries can move current exactly the same. 5ah isnt something they have inside, its a measure of what they can do.

No, but I can't explain it any better than I've already done here on SD...
I think you're still confusing work & power, work well be about the same for both batteries but not power.
