This iPad Air M4 deal stands out for strong performance, a familiar 11 inch form factor, and enough storage headroom to avoid constant app deletions and update hassles. The 256GB option gets the most enthusiasm, and older 5th gen cases appear to fit. Costco also looks attractive for AppleCare or tablet protection, with lower protection pricing and a 90 day return window. The main drawbacks are the extra shipping and California fee, and a competing Best Buy cellular M3 price that undercuts it. A solid pick if you want more room and smoother everyday use.
Tablet buyers who want AppleCare+ coverage, because the bundled protection can cost less than buying the plan separately.
People upgrading from an older iPad Air, because the newer model can reduce app reloading and update-related storage friction.
Families loading travel movies onto an iPad, because 256GB can hold large video downloads without constant storage cleanup.
Cellular tablet users who dislike phone tethering, because the cellular model feels more seamless for everyday use.
Buyers comparing against the lowest nearby price, because other retailers and open-box listings can undercut this offer.
Shoppers who only need a basic browsing tablet, because the thread does not show a clear display or reflection advantage over the base model.
People unwilling to pay extra fees at checkout, because the purchase can include shipping and a California fee.

Also re: buying "like new" for $25 cheaper... my rule is if I'm not saving at least 20% to risk a used item I'd rather just pay a little extra for something I know is brand new and won't have possible warranty issues (pending where bought from and item in question).

The Allstate 2-Year Plan (via Costco) and AppleCare+ differ fundamentally in who repairs your device and how much you pay. Allstate is an affordable third-party insurance, while AppleCare+ is the official, premium manufacturer warranty.
Deep Dive: Which Should You Choose?
Choose the Allstate plan if:
- You want upfront savings: It is significantly cheaper than AppleCare+ at the time of purchase.
- You want zero deductibles: If you crack your screen or suffer a mechanical failure, Allstate covers 100% of the cost with no out-of-pocket fees.
- You are on a budget: It's ideal for budget tablets or users who are generally careful but want a safety net against major hardware failures.
