This Nintendo eShop gift card deal is mainly useful for stocking up on Switch funds for digital games and subscriptions, especially when paired with eShop sales and wishlist alerts. The card can also cover Nintendo Switch Online and the retro library, and the code is for United States use with a Nintendo Account, internet access, and the latest system update. The main drawback is price, since Costco and CardBear have recently offered better discounts, and Paze does not apply to third party gift cards here. It is still a straightforward way to lock in funds ahead of future price changes.
Nintendo Switch players who buy digital games regularly, because the funds can be stacked with eShop sales and wishlist alerts for a deeper discount.
It is better than paying full price, but Costco has been cheaper at times and CardBear's Nintendo gift cards were cited at 17.5% off versus about 12.5% here. Costco also requires membership, and its current promo was noted as better than this Newegg price.
Yes. The funds can be applied to Nintendo eShop purchases and also to Nintendo Switch Online and retro library subscriptions, so the card is useful beyond buying individual games.
Yes. The listed digital terms say the code is valid for use in the United States only, and redemption requires a Nintendo Account, internet access, and the latest Switch system update.
Yes, I just did last night, using the Costco Deal, FWIW its slightly cheaper to buy the Costco $100 pack (4x $25 Cards) vs the $200 pack, but my second order got cancelled (even though I was not at the limit) so I ordered 1x $100 Pack and 2x $200 Pack.
But since that deal post is dead maybe someone here could answer?
Do any of you know if the code expires? I bought this for my kids but would like to wait for Christmas if possible, I'm willing to open it and hide it if the code expires but If it'll be good until the end of the year I'd rather wait on it.
Trying to decide which of the 3 games to go with, I'm leaning towards Mario Kart World personally as that's what I think my kids would enjoy (the auto steer and accelerate I think are helpful for them they played it recently at a friends house) but is this a game that comes on sale regularly? I like to buy physical copies if possible.
Believe it or not I actually bought Mario Kart 8 for the Switch as well as Zelda Link's Awakening and Breath of the Wild but never got around to buying a switch (I have a SlickDeals habit, but who doesn't). My understanding is that those games should work just right out of the box. Which is the only reason I might steer away from buying Mario Kart World (Did 8 Support the auto steer / auto accelerate?)
I ended up picking up Super Mario RPG on eBay for $27 Shipped, Wish I could have gotten that GameStop deal last year when it was like $15 bucks...
S I just ordered a Switch 2 this morning, is this going to be the best deal on getting some games on it at some kind of a discount? Or am I better off just looking on ebay and gamestop for some good used games? Or just getting the walmart sales as time goes on?

Better off buying it before the $50 price increase in Sept. Also you can always load your nintendo account with the funds from the GC. I am in the same boat, MK8 should be fine (has auto steer pretty sure)

Generally eshop gift card codes have an expiration date a few years in the future. As long as you plan to use it this year you should be fine. You can go to the claim page to check the expiration date without actually associating it to an account.
Depends on which of the 3 games you want to play. Mario kart is suited for multiplayer, two people can play on a single device. Donkey Kong is a good single player collectathon experience. And Pokopia if you like minecraft or cozy animal crossing style gameplay without fighting.
There haven't really been significant sales for any of them yet, but check dekudeals to keep up to date on sales.
Just be aware that game key cards are technically physical but require a download to play the game. The internal storage will fill up fast, the switch 2 uses micro sd express cards, not your typical micro sd cards, make sure you buy the right one or you can't use it to expand your storage.
Yes your switch 1 games will work on switch 2 and look and run better on it. Links awakening has a free upgrade patch, Breath of the wild has a paid $20 upgrade patch. And Mario Kart 8 technically doesn't have one but it will still look fine and in handheld mode can look pretty good with boost mode on. And yes MK8 has autosteering to keep the player from running off the track.
