Different ingredients. Terro uses borax, stem uses spinosad. IMO good to vary them up but terro always seems to be more effective

There's a lot of variability in what bait will work most effectively depending on the type of ant, a colony's needs at a given moment, and how far a colony is from where you're treating it.

Terro has worked great for me generally, but I had an infestation once where they ignored Terro traps for weeks, but then suddenly decided they really wanted it. In the meantime, I made DIY traps with variations of peanut butter and fermented fruit that worked.

Also had ants that seemed to be dying off too quickly from Terro, so I had to make a weaker solution so they'd survive a trip back to the colony.

Advion gets a lot of praise for effectiveness, but I'm willing to struggle a bit with borax-based traps because it's the least toxic out of all of them. The $3 box of borax I got is essentially a lifetime supply of DIY trap-making, but I always start with Terro for the convenience.

Mine ignored the raid for 4 days and absolutely swarmed the Terro liquid (traps and drops) quickly.
They didn't come back the next day

Spraying the perimeter of your house with this is more effective in my opinion. It stops ants from entering your house to begin with:

I bought these from an Amazon deal. The ants did not go near it. I'm sticking with Terro.
