NIU is one of the best rated brands for commuter electric scooters for under $1000. They have other models on sale this week for Amazon Prime Day, but the KQi 300P is the one that I bought. The NIU website, Amazon, and Best Buy are all selling for this price, so pick the one where you get the service, cash back, credit card points, etc. Best Buy may have them available for local pickup if you don't want to deal with free (but not always reliable) Amazon Prime shipping.

List price on the NIU website is $899, which is kind of a hoax. Amazon and Best Buy have been selling them for around $539 for the last few months. Prime Day sale price is $479, which is a healthy $60 discount. I expect the price to go back up after Amazon Prime Day.

Other NIU models are on sale this week as well, but discounts on the cheaper models are not as good and the more expensive models seem too fast and heavy for commuter use (and I'm no expert on sport use). Cheaper scooters from the same brand will generally have shorter range, rougher ride, and possible difficulty with uphill roads.

Other electric scooter brands will probably also have Prime Day sales and some of the sales won't start until Tuesday.

Front suspension is far more important for commuter scooter. Rear tubeless tires absorb enough of the rear wheel shock.

This is anecdotal from a couple friends. True real world mileage on a charge is half the manufacturers claim, going uphill, stopping, starting, speed. That would make it on this unit, 15 total miles, 7.5 miles each way. Probably not too bad for a run to the park or store and back.

I own this exact scooter. It's really heavy. It max speed is 20mph. Smooth as heck. The build quality is excellent. In my experience NIU makes the best quality scooter, but I am not sure I would recommend this one due its lack of portability. Like I said, heavy and bulky, but super solid. My daughter has 100p and it has been excellent as well.
