So yeah, it's quartz, but it's high-end quartz.

Community Reviews
The Bulova Lunar Pilot is a high end quartz chronograph that stands out for its space watch history, sweeping seconds hand, and very strong accuracy, with claims of about plus or minus 10 seconds per year. The 45 millimeter case and long lug to lug make it wear huge, especially on smaller wrists, and the polished case is not to every taste. Bracelet fit can also be tricky on the strap variant. At this price, it reads as a compelling value for a distinctive, accurate chronograph.
Watch buyers who value precise everyday timekeeping, because the quartz movement is described as exceptionally accurate and faster than traditional quartz.
Collectors who want a historically inspired chronograph, because it pairs space-watch styling with high-end quartz accuracy around ±10 seconds per year.
People who want a standout wristwatch that draws attention, because it is described as a stunning workhorse that gets lots of looks and praise.
People with smaller wrists, because the 45mm case and long lug-to-lug can overhang and wear like a dinner plate.
Buyers who prefer a more understated finish, because the polished case can feel too shiny compared with a brushed case.
Shoppers who need a complete delivery, because the watch can arrive as an empty box.
