The Switch 1 version is not the same as the Switch 2 version. I pulled these quotes from an article comparing the two:
A major new feature in Octopath Traveler 0 is town reconstruction, where you rebuild settlements by recruiting townsfolk and constructing new facilities. The Switch 2 version allows up to 400 total structures, while the original Switch caps it around 250.
The Switch 2 version of Octopath Traveler 0 offers the best overall visual experience. Higher-end textures, faster load times, and a locked 60 frames per second make combat and exploration feel smoother, especially when switching between menus or entering battles.
At the time of release there was no upgrade option between the two versions. Not sure if that's changed.

That was a helpful insight.
I like to look at what's on the cartridge. The switch 2 version is a key card. The switch one version appears to have the full game on it. The download size on Nintendo's website is 5.3GB, so I'm assuming the full game is actually on the cart.
I really wished that the switch 2 version was the full game on the cart... then it would be the ultimate system to collect for, IMHO.
