Just wanted to post a breakdown for anyone trying to decide between these two. On paper they look similar, but they are built completely differently for different needs:
HT2501 (25" Commercial Style)
* The Good: Metal motor/gearbox housing (built like a tank), wider 1.25" cut capacity, and a 2-speed selector so you can drop the RPMs to save battery on easy stuff. Fully serviceable metal gearbox.
* The Bad: It's heavy. 8.38 lbs bare tool. Sucks a 2.5Ah battery dry in about 40 mins.
* Verdict: Buy this if you have thick, woody, neglected overgrowth or want a tool that can take a beating.
HT2600 / HT2601 (26" Carbon Fiber)
* The Good: Way lighter (6.92 lbs) thanks to the carbon fiber rail (which has a lifetime warranty). Faster blade speed (3,400 SPM vs 3,200), and much more efficient—gets a full 60 mins on a 2.5Ah battery.
* The Bad: Composite/plastic motor housing instead of metal, single-speed only, and a slightly smaller 1.20" cut capacity.
* Verdict: Buy this if you have a lot of standard hedge area to cover and want to save your shoulders. The weight reduction makes a massive difference for overhead cutting.
TL;DR: HT2501 = Heavy-duty, metal gearbox, handles thicker branches. HT2600 = Lightweight, faster cutting, better battery runtime, easier on the back.

but at 160$ vs 229$, it's a hard sell for something used as infrequently as a hedge trimmer.
