hasnt been upgraded since 2024, so due for an upgrade to support AI. Probably even cheaper when the new once gets released.

Also unclear how this compares with the iphone fold. If the fold costs $300 - $400 more than a regular iphone, then I would consider it because it saves me from buying an ipad mini along with an iphone.

It's due for an upgrade, yes. And rumors suggest maybe even a OLED screen are coming. But it does support Apple Intelligence. Not all the biggest models on device - that requires more RAM - but it is supported.

This is the "normal deal". I'l might consider it when it hits 299. Also criminal that it's 2026 and the mini still doesn't have 120hz screen. I haven't upgrade since 2019 because my other one still functions like new and only thing I ever do on there is read.

Here we have folks holding on to 7 year old ipads yet people will complain about this being 2 years old blah blah.
