To me, I would want the Switch 1 version, even though I have a Switch 2, as I do not want Game Key Cards; I want the game to be playable on the physical cart I've got. To someone who plays games once and never again, and who has a Switch 2, buying a digital-only version of a game is a perfectly fine choice.

I've nothing wrong with a preference for digital, my friend. For folks who like it, and who don't care about having something in the future, you're right; it's definitely an option! Buy it digitally, enjoy it, and you're good. Different strokes.
For anyone who wants something to outlast or not rely on authentication with a digital shop (or other things, like Sony's recent revocation of movie rights), or who lives in and visits remote areas with no Internet access (that one's me!), it's not just about having something ten, twenty, or thirty years from now... but I do still have a fully functional Atari 2600 with cartridges, so I guess the latter is me too!
