For anyone waiting 18 release, rumor has it prices will go up. Again. Which is kinda crazy, considering they just went up for 17 pro... just get a 17 at this rate yah? #RAMapocalypse
There are rumors that it won't go up too, which makes the rumors a wash. If you can wait, wait. You can still buy a 17 if it does go up, and you'll be closer to Black Friday. We're 3 months away.

Cost for 18 models are expected to be higher.
Op already saved 50 percent. The $930 in gift cards cost him $480. I'm doing the same thing. Im going to trade in four 16e for $1240 in gift cards, at a cost of $640 to me.

Plus chase rewards has 15% discount on apple gift cards. Buy new directly from Apple with 15% GC route is better on my books.

The CEO of Apple said it will go up so who is giving the counterargument that prices won't go up? I think if Tim Cook says something it's not a rumor.

I just switched to t mobile experience beyond plan, had 2 lines and got iPhone 17 pros for free after credits. They gave a third line and google pixel pro for free after credits too. No trade in. Only paid tax on the new phones (about $70 per phone).

The price increases are real. Tim Cook recently told The Wall Street Journal that Apple plans to raise prices on its products to help offset the rising cost of memory and storage chips. When those price increases hit, you're probably going to wish you'd taken advantage of deals like this while they were still available.

Tim Cook said a price increase is unavoidable, but he did not mention when it will hit, what products it will affect first, or by how much. We don't know anything concrete at this point.

Even if an increase does happen, what if it's only a $50-100 increase rather than the $200+ some rumors mentioned? That might be within reason for some people considering the 18, and if not, the 17 will be on a sale as the older model.

We're 3 months out from knowing. I don't think the rush to buy a 17 today is justified unless you have zero interest in the 18.
