When used in an appropriate, silicone-compatible manner, the silicone stuff is pretty nice. It doesn't seem to get sticky as fast as some water-based alternatives, and it does its thing longer so you don't need to reapply it nearly as frequently. It isn't perfect for everything obviously, but it's good stuff.
