You are paying $10 for a cheaper product. Or increasing the price of paying more for each, if you divide by 2.

You just increased each to $5 each. Why are you giving them $0.11 of your hard earned money?
And if you were planning on buying "anything" (drink and a side item), they just made you spend more than you would have (unless you did intend to buy more) to get a free item that cost less. They baited you.

Now, if this deal has a $11 burger and there was one condiment for $0.50, I would consider adding it because I still would be getting a good deal.
When the restaurant plays the game right, I try to give back by buying a little more.
