What sucks is Amazon had the m5 version this morning for 899. They have raising the price through the day.

It is okay. I bought my m4 in December for 699. That was max I was willing to spend for m4. But it is solid. I mainly wanted it for the OLED 120hz. Otherwise technically an air is all I need.

Note that the iPad RAM is based on the storage. The lower <512GB tier comes with 8GB in the m4 as opposed to 16GB for 1TB+. In the M5 it's 12GB and 16GB divided on the same line.

This really matters on the m4 as the lower tier won't run the best local models in iOS 27.

I was excited about this deal until I saw it was the M4. Going forward, buyers will definitely want at least 12 GB of RAM on iOS devices.

Yeah that usual $899 sale price for the 11" iPad Pro looking way better now that Apple (and everyone else) has bumped the bad model MSRP to $1199!! Now even a "good" sale on this thing will be above retail.

But for anyone in the market for an 11" iPad Pro if you can get the Costco deal, or anywhere else, for $899 still I'd wholeheartedly recommend ponying up the extra $100, taking that deal and running with it lol. Otherwise, at new current MSRP this is technically a $400 "savings" over M5 (at full retail) for not a huge loss of power and features (unless you're really into the latest and greatest AI features that are supposedly coming later this year from Apple)
