In August Google usually announces their newest phones, the pixel 11 series, so everything else generally gets discounted or heavily promoted by Verizon or Tmo. The P11 is supposed to have a more advanced chip from TSMC.

That's what they said about the Pixel 10 and it ended up only being an incremental increase. Theyre always at least 2-3 generations behind in performance to other flagships. I doubt it will change this time.


If they at least got the chip to match qualcomms last year's offering, that would be nice, but doubt

pixel fold is on 5 years software cycle. released in june 2023, 3 years is already over and 2more years left… so 449 is on higher side.

I bought one of these a few months ago on a better deal advertised as new. It came with a screen protector installed and was shipped from a 3rd party company which was suspicious but otherwise looked flawless so I decided to give it a shot.

After several hours of trying to activate it on my service on my own and through customer support and escalations it was not able to be activated. Fortunately I was able to return it for a refund but I was not able to return the case I bought for it expecting to be able to use it.

Moral of the story is temper your expectations with these deals. It did seem like a cool phone at a much lower than new price point if you're interested in trying out a foldable.
